Hello, from our NATION'S CAPITOL! As the world digs itself out of this recession, this might not seem like the best time to jump into real estate. BUT, for those willing to invest for the long term, 2009 will be the year of the property bargains on the Island.

Right now, the buyer is being rewarded for making an offer as the very best locations are being listed for sale. It takes time, patience, and in some cases, a some creativity to find these properties, BUT in my estimation there will never be a 2009 timing opportunity like this one. The properties are almost never identified as a value, but by researching purchase date, motivation, locations and condition. We all know we cannot “time” the bottom of the market; BUT, "the key is not to lose “time” in our lives waiting for a sign or signal. Noteworthy -- "don’t take a chance on time.” As for me, spending time enjoying this Island Paradise with friends and family is more valuable than the dollars one might save waiting for a better one.

Tonight I head back to Hilton Head Island after a week in the WASHINGTON, DC area (my old stopping grounds from 1970 to 1992). For a week it has been a wonder time taking care of my oh, so precious almost 3 year old granddaughter, Kendall Marie. While I will miss this adorable little girl, I am most anxious and will be very appreciative to get back to my Island Paradise. One forgets about the amount of time it takes to get from one place to another in the DC area. Too much time spent (wasted) in a car!!! IN DEED, let me get back to my wonderful Island Lifestyle without the constant hustle and bustle urgency that surrounds our Nation's Capitol. I've been in the Lowcountry of HHI since 1992 and I am confident after 17+ years that it's still the right place for me! Oh, yeah!
